Set in the heart of Ulsoor, Bangalore, The Rustic Nook is a serene retreat designed for a couple who use it as their seasonal haven. A blend of rustic and industrial styles, the home reflects their love for raw textures, Indian craftsmanship, and timeless elegance.

The entrance makes a bold first impression with a rustic black metal door. Its standout feature—a handle made from a reinforcement rod wrapped in red leather—adds both tactility and color. A sliced bark wood accent next to it brings in a soft, natural contrast, setting the tone for the home’s raw yet refined character.

Reclaimed timber-style flooring and walls finished in beige and charcoal lime plaster lay a neutral foundation. The ceiling, enhanced by antique Chettinad wooden beams from Karaikudi, adds depth and heritage. Earth-toned furniture in beige creates a calming palette, while live-edge tables sourced from Dehradun forests highlight the beauty of natural imperfection. Touches of greenery and handcrafted décor enhance the bohemian vibe, making the space inviting and soulful.

The kitchen carries forward the rustic theme with black stone veneer lower cabinets and raw wood countertops. Overhead cabinets in untreated wood offer both style and storage. A sliding glass and aluminum partition separates it from the living room, maintaining openness while adding privacy.

A sliding barn door in live-edge wood reveals a visually striking powder room. Eschatology-themed wallpaper, a stone boulder basin, antique brass fixtures, and stone-textured tiles create a dramatic, earthy space full of character.

Painted entirely in emerald green, including the ceiling, this room feels moody and intimate. Timber furniture and antique Bastar art panels add heritage and warmth. The attached bathroom continues the theme with green tiles, floral wallpaper, and a sculptural boulder basin.

In contrast, the guest bedroom is bright and white, designed to be airy and uplifting. A vibrant wallpaper on the walls and wardrobe introduces playfulness, making it feel welcoming and fresh.

The Rustic Nook is more than a home—it’s a tactile experience. It’s where reclaimed materials, heritage craftsmanship, and understated luxury come together to create a soulful space that honors both tradition and individuality.
