The design draws inspiration from the essence of vernacular architecture, referencing elements such as verandas, wooden columns, tiled roofs, and internal courtyards. These traditional features are reimagined through clean geometry and a restrained material palette, allowing the home to remain rooted in its cultural context while seamlessly adapting to an urban setting.

Planned as a vertically layered home, the residence unfolds through spaces that encourage openness, connection, and natural light. The lower levels accommodate functional and service areas, while the primary living spaces form the social heart of the home. Living, dining, kitchen, and guest areas flow together, supporting a sense of togetherness and everyday comfort.

Private family spaces are arranged on the upper levels and are centred around the home’s defining feature, an open to sky courtyard. Positioned at the heart of the house, this courtyard allows sunlight and rain to enter freely, creating an ever changing atmosphere that connects the interiors closely with nature. A terrace garden above offers a quiet retreat within the city.

The character of the home is shaped by earthy textures and natural finishes. Teakwood, stone, and polished marble define the material palette, bringing warmth and visual continuity to both the facade and interiors. Crafted wooden balconies, columns, and detailed joinery reinforce the home’s tactile quality and sense of permanence.

Light plays a central role in shaping the experience of the residence. From skylit passages to the central courtyard, daylight moves gently through the home, highlighting the textures of wood and stone. Each crafted element adds depth and continuity, expressing the spirit of traditional craftsmanship in a simple and enduring way, while celebrating a lifestyle that is calm, grounded, and connected to nature.
